About the Author |
|
David writes from a wide range of life experiences. He is a professional engineer who started his career in the UK aviation industry before going on to do research, and then entering the academic and consultancy world. After lecturing at the University of Nairobi in Kenya for a time, he emigrated to Australia in 1979 and later became Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland. His agricultural engineering project and consultancy work has taken him to many Asian countries and he has particular experience of working in Thailand and the Philippines. His projects have also taken him to such exotic places as Zanzibar, Jamaica and the San Blas Islands of Panama, where for a brief period he lived among the indigenous Kuna Yala Indians.
David is a published author of two technical study books, has contributed to two engineering handbooks, and has had many research papers published. Since leaving full-time work he has turned his writing activity to fiction. He focuses on a genre which brings together the crime-thriller with the intensely human stories of the poor of the ‘two-thirds world’ in situations influenced by corruption and power groups. His first novel – The Orchid File – is a page-turner that will resonate especially with those who have traveled to Thailand. David lives in South-East Queensland.
