Australian Secret Serviceman Steven Carlson is assigned to investigate Chak Artachinda, a Thai orchid exporter suspected of being linked to a syndicate bringing drugs into Australia. From Noosa in Queensland he tails the suspect to Bangkok and the Golden Triangle, but he quickly discovers that someone wants him dead. While in Chiang Mai, he encounters Srisamorn, a beautiful and mysterious Thai woman who harbors a terrible secret, one that will soon impact on his mission and put both their lives in danger.

After breaking into Chak’s laboratory, Carlson thinks he has found the proof he needs, but when he is captured, he finds out he is mistaken. Chak has a startling secret of a different kind, but for Carlson it leads to a death sentence.

Imprisoned in a remote location over the Burmese border, now only Srisamorn can help him escape, evade the drug baron’s dragnet and make it back to Australia with vital intelligence, plus the secret of the orchid.

* The Orchid File was short-listed for the 2008 New South Wales Writers Centre/

New Holland Publishers Genre Fiction Award (under the earlier title The Noosa Connection).
